Join Spartanburg County Public Libraries as we celebrate the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States through our library collections. The Celebration of Asian/Pacific Heritage began in 1979 with a Presidential Proclamation commemorating a weeklong celebration marking the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843.
