The Spartanburg County Public Libraries received a $15,000 gift from the estate of Frank
J. Hanus, III. A native of New York, Mr. Hanus was the CEO of the family’s Spartanburg
based InsulFab Plastics. In 1997, Mr. Hanus gave an original Al Hirschfeld painting of
James F. Byrnes which was used as the cover for the March 1, 1946 edition of “The
American Mercury.” Mr. Hanus’ financial gift will become a part of the Library
Endowment and used for Local History.
A gift to the Friends of the Libraries’ Endowment is an investment in Library programs,
facilities, collections and staff. If you are interested in estate planning, contact Todd

The mission of the Spartanburg County Public Libraries is to inspire people to pursue
lifelong learning for a thriving Spartanburg County.
