JOB TITLE: Training Assistant, Grade 20
LOCATION: Headquarters Library
DATE AVAILABLE: February 1, 2026
SALARY: $2,668 per month (Includes generous benefit package)

HOURS: 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with libraries and technology Must pass pre-employment testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages purchasing activity for the Training Department by preparing and submitting purchase orders, ordering supplies, and other training-related items.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility by following established purchasing and reimbursement procedures, comparing costs, and making recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
  • Manages conferences and off-site training attendance, such as registering staff, booking flights, making hotel reservations, and arranging reimbursements.
  • Assists with planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing regularly scheduled training events, including monthly New Employee Orientations and annual Staff Days.
  • Delivers training on library procedures, customer service, basic workplace technology, and other topics.
  • Assists with the creation and updating of training materials, such as guides and checklists.
  • Reviews local, state, and national training opportunities to add content to the training calendar and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Provides administrative support in the LMS by uploading courses and materials, enrolling staff, running reports for supervisors on completion rates and staff training hours, and troubleshooting basic user issues.
  • Supports continuous improvement of training programs by gathering feedback and recommending edits to content.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with libraries and technology
  • Experience in accounting, education, training, or record-keeping functions
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Knowledge of current technology, including email and the Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency with Excel is a strong plus.
  • Ability to learn and use different software systems, such as a Learning Management System and the library’s Integrated Library System
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain procedures and provide basic instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
