LOCATION: Headquarters Library
DATE AVAILABLE: February 1, 2025
SALARY: $2,668 per month (Includes generous benefits package)

HOURS: 40 hours per week

Week A: S 12:15-5:15; Mon OFF; Tues 8:30-5:45; Wed 11:15-8:15; Thurs 8:30-5:45; Fri 9:15-6:15; Sat OFF

Week B & C: S OFF; Mon 8:30-5:30; Tues 8:30-5:30; Wed 11:15-8:15; Thurs 8:30-5:30; Fri 8:30-5:30; Sat OFF

Week D: S OFF; Mon 8:30-5:45; Tues 8:30-5:30; Wed 11:15-8:15; Thurs 8:30-5:45; Fri OFF; Sat 9:15-5:15

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete pre-employment testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Schedules and successfully executes an equitable number of passport applications based on the needs of facility.
  • Regularly tracks passport applications to ensure they are received by Passport Services.
  • Maintains up to date literature and applications related to passport applications and keeps up to date with changes as communicated through official passport acceptance agent correspondence.
  • Supports passport facility by attending yearly training and being available for periodical facility training.
  • Maintains confidentiality and abiding by all rules set forward by the Passport Application Resource Guide (PARG).
  • Provides superior customer service with information requests, reader’s advisory questions, computers, digital devices, and library equipment.
  • Collaborates with community partners, patrons, and staff to provide relevant, innovative assistance and programs for patrons of the Information Services Department.
  • Assists with processing, shifting, and weeding of the collection when needed; reads shelves to make sure items are in the correct order on the shelf; assists with library book displays; shelves materials when necessary.
  • Handles financial transactions and assists in preparing bank deposits.
  • Responsible for maintaining an attractive space in the Information Services department.
  • Participates in department meetings, assigned committee meetings, and online discussions.
  • Attends regular training related to adult services and other library work.
  • Remains aware of safety and security issues and takes appropriate action as needed; roves the department to maintain awareness of patron needs and security.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience and proficiency with current library technology, including the internet, research databases, productivity software, and communications applications
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and work independently or in a team environment
  • Proven experience in collaborating with others to provide appropriate service and programs for the public
  • Driver’s license valid in the State of South Carolina with the ability to drive to other libraries
