JOB TITLE: Training Specialist, Grade 23
LOCATION: Headquarters Library
DATE AVAILABLE: December 1, 2024
SALARY: $43,880 per year (Includes generous benefit package)

HOURS: 40 hours per week
Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree from an accredited school with a background and experience in Library Science, Education, Instructional Design, or related fields Must complete pre-employment testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Design, develop, and re-design content for e-learning, web-based, and instructor-led classes.
  • Create instructional deliverables in various engaging formats (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  • Delivers existing training curriculum, such as new employee orientation classes.
  • Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate and enhance performance
  • Learns new software and technology and assists staff with instruction as needed.
  • Performs basic Learning Management System administration and support duties.
  • Provides support in the planning and implementing of large training events (Staff Day).
  • Supports ongoing training initiatives.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
  • Obtains necessary certifications that align with job responsibilities.
  • Assists with maintaining digital devices belonging to the Training Department by regularly charging and updating devices and filling requests for devices from staff at all locations.
  • Assists with planning and training projects as assigned by the Director

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school with a background and experience in Library Science, Education, Instructional Design, or related fields
  • Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication skills
  • Expresses creativity in work
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills that demonstrate attention to detail
  • Excellent technology skills, including knowledge of digital devices and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Audio and video editing experience a plus
  • Ability to engage a diverse staff with tact and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently, be productive in a self-directed environment, and collaborate with the Department.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing
  • Valid Driver’s license with the ability to drive to other libraries
