The Spartanburg Youth Council is a coalition of over 315 members, including state and local schools, colleges, universities, non-profits, businesses, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, the faith community, government, individuals, parents and young people.  Our mission is to facilitate collaboration among youth-serving organizations, to promote opportunities for youth leadership and development, and to raise awareness about youth issues.  The SYC also includes 2 youth groups. Youth Voices is a group of junior high and high school students whose primary work is the Youth in Philanthropy Project. They raise funds, release an RFP, distribute the funds, and review the grants. The Mayor’s Service Board is a youth-led initiative of high school-age students dedicated to researching community needs, and creating service projects to meet those needs. Membership in the SYC is a great way for parents, educators, youth pastors, youth workers, volunteers, etc. to keep apprised of youth events, programs, and initiatives. Contact Youth Council Coordinator today to join!
